Q2 2023 Economic and Job Market Indicators
In an effort to keep the public and business community informed on the economy of the region, the COEDC releases the publicly available quarterly Economic Indicators Report highlighting key economic data for the Central Okanagan.

The Q2 2023 Economic Indicators report includes cumulative statistics for 9 key economic indicators for April through June 2023.

The Job Market Indicators report, first released in 2021, provides a snapshot of the Central Okanagan's labour force and job market through data collected from Vicinity Jobs, a real-time labour market information technology platform.

Call for Syilx Artists and Graphic Designers
UBCO Indigenous Initiatives is currently creating an Indigenous Caucus newsletter, under development and set to launch in late September 2023. The project team is seeking one Syilx artist or graphic designer who will provide original artwork in the form of an illustration or graphic to be included in the monthly e-newsletter and future community newsletter as well as on communication materials produced to promote Indigenous Caucus gatherings and programming.

Scope of work and deliverables
The artwork requested will be used on print and digital communication and promotional materials for the Indigenous Caucus newsletter and programming, including, but not limited to, newsletter templates, banners, social media graphics, webpages on ok.ubc.ca, reports, booklets, and/or pins.  

Expressions of interest are requested by August 14, 2023.
BC Youth in Manufacturing Initiative
As part of the Future Ready Action Plan, the Province of BC is providing $3 million to Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) to deliver the BC Youth in Manufacturing Initiative.

This 3 year project will provide short-term, paid work placements for 500 BC youth aged 16 to 21. Eligible employers will receive $3,500 per placement to offset onboarding, on-the-job training and wage costs for ages 18-21 and $2,500 for high school students.
