Tech the Halls

Join Avantage, Accelerate Okanagan, The Innovation Centre, Spaces, and OYP Collective for "Tech the Halls," a festive celebration with the Okanagan's vibrant community featuring food, drinks, and an Ugly Sweater Fashion Show.


Bring a non-perishable for the Foodbank, mingle with local pros and tech enthusiasts, and enjoy bites from Gather Restaurant. 


Tickets ($30) include: Two drink tickets, light bites from Gather Restaurant. Additional drinks are available for purchase.


This event is 19+. Please bring ID, drink responsibly and plan for a safe ride home.

Securing Small Business Rebate

The Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation has launched its $10.5 million Securing Small Business Rebate Program, which will provide small businesses with funds for eligible commercial property crime and vandalism repairs or to implement eligible preventative measures. Administered by the BC Chamber of Commerce, the program offers two rebates: Reparative (up to $2,000 for each of 2023 and 2024) and Preventative (up to $1,000 for either 2023 or 2024).

 

The application portal is now open, and closes on January 31, 2025.

OC Cultivates event fosters local food, wine and tourism businesses 

You’ve heard of the iconic Okanagan Champagne powder or our four-season playgrounds, but did you know the Okanagan is also leading the way in innovation in food, beverage and tourism?


A new Okanagan College event series, OC Cultivates, aims to celebrate and explore Okanagan’s unique and exciting food, beverage and tourism industries with a kick-off event featuring local experts and a panel discussion hosted by CBC Radio West host, Sarah Penton.


The first OC Cultivates will feature a dynamic panel of industry leaders, including wine, spirits and beverage makers, hospitality leaders, tourism experts and more to explore the unique characteristics of the Okanagan’s food and beverage businesses.


  • When: Tuesday, Nov. 28
  • Time: Networking reception 6 – 7 pm, Panel discussion 7- 8:30 p.
  • Where: OC’s Kelowna campus, Student Services (“S”) building
  • Cost: The event is free to attend, but pre-registration is required for entry
