Tech the Halls
Dec. 7, 4 - 7 p.m.
Kelowna Innovation Centre

Join Avantage, Accelerate Okanagan, The Innovation Centre, Spaces, and OYP Collective for "Tech the Halls," a festive celebration with the Okanagan's vibrant community featuring food, drinks, and an Ugly Sweater Fashion Show.

Bring a non-perishable for the Foodbank, mingle with local pros and tech enthusiasts, and enjoy bites from Gather Restaurant. 

Tickets ($30) include: Two drink tickets, light bites from Gather Restaurant. Additional drinks are available for purchase.

This event is 19+. Please bring ID, drink responsibly and plan for a safe ride home.

Join us on Nov. 29 from 5-8 PM for a Self-Care Social, a perfect way to unwind post-work with meditation, yoga, board games, and an ice cream buffet. Drop in to relax, socialize, and be part of a community that cherishes self-care as much as you do.

  • Be a Buddy: Help a newcomer feel at home by joining as a buddy at our Self-Care Social.
  • Share Your Skills: Got 10-15 minutes and a talent for yoga, meditation, coaching, or comedy? Lead a session at our Self-Care Social.
  • Sponsor Tech the Halls: Enhance the event's cheer as a sponsor, with options for table sponsorships, official event videographer and more!
  • Volunteer Your Time: Lend a hand with setup or takedown, and be an integral part of our events' success.

Homegrown Success Honoured

The Regional District of Central Okanagan’s Economic Development Commission (COEDC) has received two 2023 Excellence in Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

A silver award was bestowed for the organization’s work in the Talent Development & Retention Category for the Connector Program – a formalized community networking initiative designed to broaden a job seeker’s network through one-on-one meetings with business leaders in the community.

The organization was also awarded a bronze award in the Innovative Programs & Initiatives category for the Okanagan Young Professionals Collective – a group creating a dynamic and vibrant culture and community to attract and retain young professionals to the Central Okanagan (oh hey, that's us ).

The OYP Collective is creating a dynamic, vibrant culture and community that attracts and retains young professionals to the Okanagan Valley through a variety of volunteer, social, professional, sports, arts, cultural events and activities.

The OYP is a COEDC program built in response to the 2020 Labour Market Outlook report stating that the Okanagan will require over 75,000 new workers by the year 2020 
(“Growing in the Okanagan – 2020 Labour Market Outlook” report).
